Queen

The Queen is Ico's antagonist. She holds her own daughter Yorda captive in the immense castle and controls a magic dark force. She resembles Yorda slightly, only she is shrouded with the shadows of the wraiths that Ico fights. This is the first real distinction we get between the Queen and Yorda: even by appearance Yorda is obviously good while the Queen is obviously evil. Equally obvious is her lordship over the castle. While it is almost entirely empty, save for the shadow creatures and the knights seen at the beginning of the game, her presence is not bound by space and she seems to appear at will.
The Queen appears only thrice in the game: once is the first time we meet her in the courtyard where our heroes find the gate. The second time is the bridge scene and then once more at the final battle scene with Ico. It has been speculated that the Queen, along with the shadow creatures, bear a connection with Dormin from Shadow of the Colossus. Oddly the Queen also resembles a far older Mono, now wreathed by dark magic, but this too is nothing more than mere speculation.
The Queen is voiced by Misa Watanabe.
